Q: What does a coach do?
A coach partners with you to achieve a successful, balanced and fulfilling life. Your coach provides you with the tools, support and structure to help you identify your goals, eliminate obstacles and accomplish more, more easily. They advise, guide and motivate you to create the results you want in your personal and professional life.
Coaching is not therapy. Coaches don't work on "issues", past or present.
Q: What is the role of a coach?
The role of the coach is greatly determined by the individual needs of the client. Your coach is someone who really listens to what you have to say and provides feedback and focus to support you in moving forward in your life. At Briefcase Moms® you receive programs and personal attention to ensure you get the results you want. Your coach will keep you accountable, challenge you to be your best and stretch you and help you to overcome procrastination. Your coach will be there with you to support you to clarify your goals and create plans to achieve them. Coaches come loaded with tools, ideas, strategies and inspiration to make your plans a reality.
Q: Why does coaching work?
You develop a relationship based on trust that is focused on your goals, needs, beliefs, values and dreams. When working with a coach dedicated to your success, you have a professional trained to help you discover what you really want and how to get it more easily.
Q: What are the results of working with a coach?
Briefcase Moms® clients most often cite improved quality of life, enhanced self-awareness and dream fulfillment as key results of working with a coach. With constant support and feedback from a coach, you will create a life you love based on your values, passions and desires. Simply put, you'll reach your personal and professional goals faster and get ahead sooner than you would on your own. Through the process of coaching, you will deepen your learning, improve your performance and enhance your life. Some of the other most frequently reported benefits are:
- improving your work-life balance
- identifying and living your priorities
- discovering what you really want
- feeling less isolated
- making better decisions
- exiling the burden of guilt
- reducing stress
- improving your productivity
- becoming a better leader
- increasing your self-awareness and self-esteem
- clarifying your vision and passions
- defining "having it all" on your terms
It is important to note that any benefits you get from collaborating with a coach, will be a direct result of the effort you put in. A successful coaching relationship requires a 100% commitment on your part.

Q: What do people work on with a coach?
The Briefcase Moms® client is a career-oriented mother who often "wants it all," and on her own terms. She wants time for work, love and family as well as just for herself. Often after taking care of job, family and related obligations, it's Mom who comes up short. There may not be enough energy, time or motivation left to create the life that resides in her dreams. These executives, small business owners and independent professionals call on Briefcase Moms® for support with:
- Balancing personal needs with family and career
- Making career changes
- Reducing work hours
- Increasing fitness
- Pursuing a promotion
- Enhancing productivity
- Improving relationships
- Delegating
- Creating financial independence
- Preventing burn-out

Q: How do I know if I'm ready for coaching?
